For the duration of this school closure, we will be using several tools to facilitate learning. 

The first is Zoom.  It is a free online meeting site.  This will allow me to give you information, answer questions, etc.  To use this platform, follow the directions below:

  • click on Join a Meeting

  • If you need help via zoom, just email me, and I'll make arrangements for you.  

 

          I typically will answer my emails fairly quickly between 10 AM and 7 PM. Email me             with ANY questions you have.

 

The next is turnitin.  This will allow for journals and assignments to be turned in, peer reviewed, and graded.  To use this platform, follow the directions below:

  • go to turnitin.com
  • click on Create Account
  • click on Student
  • Fill in the form using the class codes below.  The enrollment key is Larsen for all classes.

Week 1 - Research project

  • Journal/Discussion topic.  What does it mean to be a leader?  Think not just about political leaders but also leaders in business and industry, the arts, science, and cultural leaders. What qualities do true leaders share?  (Answers should be between 100 - 200 words)  This should be completed at turnitin.com under the Discussion tab. 
  • Choose a leader from the Sophomore topics file to research.  Focus on collecting information from reliable sources about your leader's birth and family, early life, career, significance and later life and death.  Be sure to keep track of where you obtained your information because you will have to cite the information in MLA format.

Complete your research PowerPoint.  Open the file below called ResearchRequirements for detailed instructions.  The PowerPoint should be submitted through turnitin.
