Let me be real, I've wanted to be a teacher since the day I came home from kindergarten.  I can't remember a time when I haven't wanted to be in a classroom filled with kids.  My dad even created a "classroom" for me with a huge old school chalkboard in the garage when I was little.  For my pretend students' learning pleasure, they were seated at a mini trampoline and taught from discarded worksheets that my gracious teachers let me take home.  Time and teaching strategies have changed, but my love and passion for the classroom have only strengthened.

This year your child and I will be celebrating my fifteenth year of teaching.  We will be teaching each other new ways to learn and solve both academic and real-life problems.  Together we are going to grow into an amazing classroom family.  My goal is for students to leave my classroom fired up about learning.  I can't wait for the adventures ahead.

On a personal note, my husband and I have three kids in 12th, 7th and 5th grades.  We also have three dogs ranging in size from small, medium and large.  We have a pretty chaotic schedule, so don’t be surprised if I’m returning your call/email while at taekwando or volleyball practice.

A few of my favorite things...
Animals: dachshunds and elephants

Hobbies: running, reading, geocaching, coloring, trying to be crafty

Books:  OMG!  I can't pick just one, but for 4th grade I'll say Wonder by R.J. Palacio.

Current Song:  Life Changes by Thomas Rhett

Car: VW Beetle

Color:  It changes daily. :) My classroom colors are black and lime green.

Subject: Texas History

Weather: Stormy days when I can stay home and get cozy with a good book.

I also love all things Harry Potter, Star Wars, meaningful quotes, family time, cupcakes, coffee, and school supplies.  I won't lie, I probably buy a new pack of pens every week.  It's an obsession.
