Hello,

My name is John Mark Hooker, and I am delighted to be instructing World History and Government at Lake Creek High School, where I will be serving as the Department Chair as well.  I am also the Faculty Advisor for the M.I.S.D. Bass Fishing Team.  This is my 11th year at M.I.S.D., and it is a pleasure to teach where high standards are the norm.

To give you a little "history" on myself, prior to moving to Montgomery High School, I spent 6 years in Spring I.S.D., teaching World Geography, World History, and U.S. History, at both Spring and Dekaney High Schools.   I also served as the Social Studies Department Chair at Andy Dekaney High School for my last two years in Spring I.S.D.

How to logon to Google Classroom:

If you have NEVER logged-in to Google Classroom for ANY teacher at MISD, follow these steps to create your Google password:

  1. Go to classroom.google.com and log-in
  2. Your username is your full student email address -

    s + ID number + @student.misd.org

    (the “s” is lowercase)

    Example: s123456@student.misd.org

*If your ID starts with a zero, skip it.  Example: 012345 would be s12345@student.misd.org

  3. The INITIAL password will be the same full email address but with a capital S.Example: S123456@student.misd.org
  4. You will be asked to change your password immediately.  It must be 8 characters long, and is only for your student Google account (NOT your Office 365 or student computer password)

If you HAVE created your student Google password -

Sign-in into Google Classroom at classroom.google.com or:

  1.  Go to the MISD Home Page (www.misd.org)
  2. Click on Student Resources
  3. Then Click on Google Classroom
  4. You need to join your class using the class code vxajpvh for Government, lzyl5pn for World History
  5. This will take you to your Government, or World History Class, where you can find your Assignments
  6. More information about student access to Google and Microsoft, including how to request a password reset for either account, can be found at:
