This week I am going to read a fun book with you called Iggy Peck Architect Written by Andrea Beaty, Illustrated by David Roberts.
CHALLENGE: build a bridge that can hold weight using items that you have inside your home. You could use Legos, blocks, recycled materials (paper towel rolls, bottles, cardboard, etc.), or anything you can get your hands on. Just remember, you want it to hold weight! Here are some pictures of bridges in our world to give you some inspiration. And, hey, if you would like to send me pictures of your creation, you can add to the Flipgrid OR email them to me and I will post them here for everyone to see!
Week two of Virtual Learning is upon us! This week we will be reading How to Catch a Monster by Adam Wallace & Andy Elkerton. Click here to access the read aloud.
Join me this week on an EGGS-ellent adventure! In the spirit of Spring & Easter, we will read a book titled The Great Eggscape! by Jory John & Pete Oswald. These are the authors of The Bad Seed, and The Good Egg. Two books that we love so much.

Did You Know?
We have a board outside of our library that reminds us of the date, library schedule for that day, and a various fact each day. Sometimes they are facts about animals, humans, food, space, etc. I miss writing random facts of the day- so this week, we are going to read some Weird Facts together! Click here for this week's video.
After watching the video, visit www.wonderopolis.org to see if you can learn something new! This is my favorite website to grow my brain!
Happy Learning, Mustangs!
Happy National POETRY Month!
This week we are going to read a few funny poems together! They come from a book titled No More Poems! By Rhett Miller, and this is a Bluebonnet Nominee book for next school year. I really think you will like this one.
Stay tuned for after the read aloud, and I will show you how to create a digital book spine poem. Here is the link for you to create it digitally, if you would like: Digital Book Spine Poetry.

Welcome to the Madeley Ranch Library; where the MAGIC happens!
My name is Jordan Anderson, and I am the Librarian at MRE. This is my first year at The Ranch and my 9th year in Montgomery ISD. I consider myself beyond blessed to get to spend each day with children. They make every moment so exciting! I received my Bachelor's degree from Texas State University (eat em' up Cats!), and I later received my Master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership. The library has always been such a magical place to me, and I am so excited to share my love of reading, passion of learning and thrills of technology with our Mustangs this year. It is going to be absolutely PERFECT!

Bluebonnet Books 2019-2020
Our MRE library is rockin' and rollin' this fall! Students have learned how to self-check in and out books. They have also learned how to put a hold their favorites, renew, and even search for e-books on our online database! It's amazing how quickly they pick up on all things technology! ;)
3rd-5th grade have begun working their way through our Texas Bluebonnet list. They are asked to read 5 of these books if they want to participate in voting. That will take place in January. 1st and 2nd grade are reading the Texas 2x2 list! These are 20 picture books made just for them. When they complete the list, they may come to the library for a prize!
STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Our Mustangs have learned all about these and the process of designing, creating and making. We always try to tie in a STEM activity with a book we've read in the library.
Fall is awesome, y'all!
