Matthew Boozer

Associate Director

Matthew Boozer is the Associate Band Director at Lake Creek High School. Mr. Boozer currently assists with all instructional aspects in the Lake Creek Lion Bands, Oak Hills Jr. High Bands and beginning band classes. He is currently in his 16th year of his music education career and 6th year in Montgomery ISD. Mr. Boozer began his career as the assistant director of bands at Needville High School in Needville, Texas, where he also assisted with the beginner and junior high school bands.  Immediately following this introductory year, he became the assistant director at Briscoe Junior High School in Richmond, Texas, where under the direction of head band director Billy Newman, Mr. Boozer would complete nine years of service. Previous to these experiences, Mr. Boozer was a low brass private instructor at both Bryan and Magnolia High Schools.

Mr. Boozer attended Blinn College under the instruction of Larry Campbell and Dr. Craig Garrett.  Mr. Boozer then studied under Drs. Matthew McInturf, Henry Howey, Rod Cannon and Carol Smith after transferring to Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas. While at SHSU, Mr. Boozer contributed his instrumental skills to the Bearkat Marching Band, SHSU Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, Jazz Lab Band and Jazz Ensemble.
