I graduated from Eckerd College in 1996 with a degree in Marine Science, and taught for 5 years in both public and private school in the Tampa Bay area.  I moved back Texas and opened Cy-Woods High School in 2006 teaching Biology and for the next 9 years taught a variety of sciences.  In 2015 I moved to Montgomery High teaching Biology and Chemistry.  I am excited to be a member of the inaugural staff for Lake Creek High teaching classes in the Biological Sciences.

This course is the equivalent of college freshman biology and the rigor is comparable to a class for biology majors. Students will be expected to perform at the college level. Areas addressed are prescribed in the College Board publication, Advanced Placement course description: Biology. Laboratory exercises are designed to encourage independent study as well as reinforce concepts and process skills. Due to extensive labs, this course content is spread across multiple class periods.

This course receives AP/DC weighting in the GPA. Student/Parent Contract must be submitted along with course registration form for all Advanced & AP courses. Students may not self-elect out of this course during the school year as no equivalent level course is available.

Assignments listed in gold on the calendar are for AP Biology
