           Image result for hello!

My name is Mrs. Brimberry. Teaching is an absolute passion of mine, and I am so excited to be working with you and your child. It’s going to be a year of fun and learning in 5th grade math and science. It is my mission to instill a love for learning in all my students and for them to develop a desire to become life-long learners.

Sam Houston State University is my Alma Mater where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a minor in English. I fell in love with teaching over seventeen years ago, and have spent most of that time working with fifth graders. I absolutely love 5th grade!

I have three amazing children! Walker is a junior at Baylor University. Courtney is a sophomore at Sam Houston State University, and Carly Brooke is finishing her senior year of high school on the campus of Lone Star College. I spend my free time with family and friends, crafting, and reading.

I love my job, the people I work with, and the students that come into my life every year. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to keep communication open between us, and I would love to talk to you whenever you feel the need. I’m looking forward to a great year together!

A few of my favorites:

                                   color:      blue

                                   season:   fall

                                   food:        Italian (flat bread)

drink:       Sonic strawberry lime-aid & chia tea latte

song:      “Grace Wins Every Time” by Matthew West

                                   book:       anything by Lee Strobel

REMIND is a text reminder application that will allow me to periodically send out classroom and school reminders via text message. The reminders I will send include homework assignments, upcoming projects/tests, school functions, and more!

It is my hope that parents and students with cell phones will choose to participate in this FREE program as a way to improve home and school communication and help us to have a successful year! To sign up, all you have to do is send a text to81010 with the message @mesbear (and no, that is not my personal cell phone number). That’s it! Simple!

Rest assured that you will never receive my personal cell phone number or the phone numbers of any classmates or other parents. I also will not be able to see your number through this app in order to maintain privacy. You will never receive advertisement texts and you may choose to opt out at any time by messaging ‘STOP’ to the above number.

If you do not have a cell phone or do not receive text messages, you may still subscribe via email by sending an email to . If you have any questions, just let me know. I will talk more about this application with students in class! Thank you for your support.

Monday mornings at 8:15, homework assignments, tests, and other important dates will be posted on the classroom whiteboard. At that time, all students are required to copy this information directly onto their Weekly Assignment Sheet. The Weekly Assignment Sheet is then placed in the back pocket of their Tuesday folder. Please sign your student’s Weekly Assignment Sheet each Monday.

A few helpful homework hints:

  • Refer to your student’s Math Journal and EnVision on-line textbook videos for examples and explanations of math strategies. The Math Pocket holds completed classroom assignments and examples (in the Tuesday Folder)
  • Homework consists of 5-10 math problems, Monday-Thursday.
  • Most students finish their homework at school, however, I highly encourage parents to take a few minutes and look over completed homework together. Give your young mathematician an opportunity to show what they are learning in class! ??
  • As always, I’m here to help! Please contact me with any questions or concerns. We’re a team working together to ensure your student’s academic success!
