Welcome to Pre-Kindergarten!!

My name is Katie Burleson and I am so excited to be teaching Pre-K this year!  I graduated from Baylor University with a degree in Child Development, and went on to receive my teacher's certificate.  My husband, Jeremy, and I have 3 precious kids....Lucas, Annabelle and Logan.   When I am not at school, you can find me watching my kids play sports and playing outside with them!  I am so excited to be a part of this amazing family at Keenan Elementary!  I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Here is some information to get your kiddo started with home learning :)

Seesaw Class -  Download the seesaw class app on your device, or you can log in online.  I will send out a picture to your seesaw with directions for this!  I will be sending you a specific text code.  Once downloaded, use your child's code to get them logged in.  I will be sending your child assignments through this app.  It will probably be easiest to do on a touch screen device if they have one.  I will be sending your kiddo things that are on his/her level!  Since I am not able to do this with them in person, please give me feedback on these!!...too hard, too easy, need more assignments, etc.  There are lots of fun activities in Seesaw that I know they will enjoy! Seesaw me if you need a new code please!

Starfall is used for Language Arts & Music, Math and Seasonal activities. I have the kids choose the Kindergarten and PreK Level. Some of them like to go into the Grades 1,2,3 - if you would please, have them do the requested time on the K/PreK level and then they can do extra in the upper level.                                       I can send out a log in for this so you can access all of the site.

Imagine Math - This is an online math game we use in the classroom sometimes.  In class, your child scans their own card to begin their lessons, but since I cannot give you the cards, I will be sending out their individual log in information to each of you!   I recommend doing these lessons on the computer maybe twice a week for 20-30 minutes.  Seesaw me if you need the log in picture again.

Choice Board - I will post a Choice Board on here each week and I will send it in seesaw as well.  There are many ideas and activities for you and your kiddo to choose from.    choiceboad-week1.38.pdf

Here is a link with a bunch of readers you can print...has black and white options they can color too......    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1RCMqrmdhoX689EoQQJZZLZMa1iNOuhR1

Reach out! Please reach out to me if you need anything.  I will post more on this site as I find things.

Here are some Learning Packs I found online if you would like extra practice with your kiddo:
