*** SCHOOL CLOSURE UPDATE*** 4/30/2020
I am sorry it is taking so long to complete the acceptance process. I was waiting to find out what we were going to do about the end of the school year. senior collaring and induction. I am currently working on getting all the application packets together (printing out applications, essays, teacher recs etc and put them in a folder and spreadsheet) to go to the Faculty Advisory Committee to approve. Once I have their approval they have to go to Mr. Eaton to approve all the new members (which of course we are waiting on his recovery to make the final decisions) and then we can let students know. Induction will be moved to the fall semester now that we know for sure we are not going back. Again I am sorry for the delay in letting students know.
I will update any further information here once we know more.
MEMBERSHIP INVITATIONS WILL BE SENT OUT ONCE GPA AND CLASS RANK ARE FINALIZED AT THE END OF THE 4TH SIX WEEKS.
The process for invitation / application / induction:
1. Once they are released our registrar will print a report of all the sophomores, and juniors with a 3.5.
2. She will print a transcript for each student.
3. I then look at transcripts for number of dual credit, advanced, AP courses.
4. Consult the AP's about behavior issues
5. Hand out invitations to each student (they will sign for their invitation)
6. Mandatory Student / Parent meeting about the application process, and expectations for members once inducted. Student and Parent must attend.
7. Students will follow the application process as listed on the website after the student / parent meeting.
8. Applications are prepared for the faculty advisory committee
9. The faculty advisory committee will meet and vote individually on every student application.
10. Mr. Eaton gives final approval
11. Students are informed if they are selected / not selected (students will be informed why they were not selected)
12. Induction Ceremony is April 23 with Sr. Collaring.

WE HAVE NEW REMIND CONTACT INFORMATION:
*Remind is wanting to charge schools / teachers / student organization for any group over 150 people to use their service. If I separate the parent group and student group I believe we can make it one more year with this program. We will have to see for next year. :)Please know we will still send out information to both groups we are just trying to be cost efficient with student monies :)

New Member Qualifications
3.5 minimum GPA
All students are required to have earned 2 - AP/ DC / Advanced credits and remain enrolled in at lease 2 - AP/DC/ Advanced course for the remainder of their membership in NHS
Have no history of discipline issues at school
Show evidence of active involvement in community service.
(15 documented and verifiable hours)
Show evidence of active involvement in school organizations.
Have a good relationships with peers and teachers.
All applicants will receive an invitation from NHS at school
