Imagine the year is 1889 and 3rd grade is helping a family settle on the new dusty, dry Indian territory. After 6 weeks of traveling, the family they are helping is low on water and they can not count on rain. There is a stream nearby, but the water is very murky. Their challenge was to create a water filtration system with limited supplies to provide clean drinking water for the newly moved family.
