Class of 2020 Graduation Details

MHS Class of 2020 Graduation:  Friday, June 5th at MISD Stadium at 9:00 a.m.


Student attire:  
Students are to wear cool, comfortable clothing under their graduation regalia (gowns).  There is to be no decor added to the mortarboard (hat) and you should begin the ceremony with the tassel on the left. A white collared shirt will look nice for pictures and girls should be cautious when choosing shoes--pointed heels may sink in the turf and be a hazard.  Your advisor will reach out to you to get you the approved cords if you have not received them already.  Here is the order that your regalia is worn over your gown:

  • The bottom layer is the honor graduate medallion.
  • The next layer should be the approved cords received from your advisor/sponsor.
  • The final layer is the NHS collar.


Pre-Registration:  
Each graduate will have to pre-register their guests.  Each guest must turn in a Covid-19 screening form when they arrive at the stadium (see additional safety below).  After registration is complete, graduates will be assigned seating for their families, their seating assignment on the field, and an arrival time along with an entrance gate assignment.  Maps will be provided to help with this process.  Click here to pre-register your graduate and guests by May 31st.

 


Graduation Pictures:  ImagineLight Photography will be taking a graduation photo after your graduate crosses the stage.  You can bring this form to the ceremony to order pictures by dropping it off at the ImagineLight table in front of the concession stand or mailing it to them.


Guests:
  Each graduate is allowed 4 guests at the ceremony.  


Seating:
 To assure the required six feet distance, seating will be assigned to each family once they pre-register.  There will be staff on site to help with seating assignments.


Arrival & Departure:
  Please arrive at the stadium in one vehicle and use alternating parking spaces to maintain a safe distance from others.  Graduates and guests must be spaced a minimum of six feet apart at all times on the field, in the seating area, and during the entering and exiting of the stadium. Once you pre-register, you will be assigned an arrival time and entrance gate to avoid crowds.  Once the graduate receives their diploma, they will exit the stadium and depart with their guests. Guests and graduates will not be allowed to congregate.


Additional Safety: 
 Graduates and guests must complete this access acknowledgement form and bring with them to the ceremony.  All graduates and attendees must be spaced a minimum of six feet apart at all times.  Graduates will receive a commemorative mask when they arrive at graduation.  We encourage guests to wear masks for safety.  Bathrooms will be monitored and sanitized throughout the event and hand sanitizer stations will be placed throughout the stadium.
