I am thrilled to be the principal of Montgomery Junior High. It is truly a joy and privilege to educate 6th, 7th, and 8th graders! Building trusting relationships with our students is our first priority.  Our vision will always focus on the whole child and to accomplish that there must be parent involvement, teacher dedication to continued growth, a partnership with parents and community, and setting high standards and expectations for our staff, students and families. I look forward to serving the students of Montgomery Junior High School and working beside a staff that provides a safe and supportive learning environment where students are encouraged to reach their academic, social and emotional potential.  Go Bears!

Mrs. Newton loves life at MJH!  Mrs. Newton is a Montgomery High School graduate, class of 97’.  She then went to Sam Houston State University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree as an English Major and History Minor, followed by her Masters Degree in Education Administration.  Mrs. Newton lives in Montgomery with her husband Jeff, and their two children Nate and Natalie.  She and Jeff, who also works in education, enjoy spending family time together and riding horses when they can.

Mrs. Newton has enjoyed being on the MJH campus for many years.  Previous students would remember her as a Texas History teacher, dressed up in funny costumes.  She also sponsored both the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council organizations.  Mrs. Newton’s hope is that all students at MJH will use this time in their lives to explore new interests, discover their strengths, and start planning for the future.  She encourages all students to get involved in a club, theatre, band, choir, or sport to be more a part of the MJH family.
