Welcome to The Ranch!  My name is Shelby Smith and I'm so very proud to serve as Principal at Madeley Ranch Elementary School.  Here you will find some of the greatest students, teachers and families around!  One of the things so special about this school family is while we come from different backgrounds, experiences and places, we all share a common passion: kids.  I believe education is the most important profession out there and love working with so many people dedicated to the social, emotional and academic needs of our students.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Tech University and Masters in Education Administration from Sam Houston State.  This year marks my 16th year in education, and 6th in Montgomery.  My career began in Humble ISD where I taught 4th and 5th grade, then moved into administration at the high school level.  I moved to Montgomery in 2012 after meeting my husband, Jon, who is a proud Montgomery High School graduate.  I immediately fell in love with Montgomery, its families and the small town feel it still has!  I served as the Assistant Principal at the former Montgomery Intermediate School from 2012-2017 and moved to Montgomery Elementary as an Assistant Principal in 2017, where I remained for a semester before being named Principal at Madeley Ranch.  My husband, Jon, and I live in Montgomery with our son, Boone, who is in preschool at Grace Lutheran School.  Boone is all boy and keeps us on our toes!  We love living in this awesome community and look forward to raising our family here!

I'm so very thankful for the opportunity I have been given to be part of this amazing school family.  I believe that no true learning can take place without meaningful relationships.  I love jumping right into every aspect of this school to build those relationships and make a difference!  I can't wait to see what's in store at The Ranch this year!

Jennifer Williamson Dean of Students
Mrs. Williamson is a Montgomery ISD graduate (along with her husband) and loves being a BEAR! She received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas A&M, and her Masters of Library Science from Sam Houston State University. She is currently completing her Principal’s Certification from Region 4. Her career in education began 21 years ago, where she taught second grade in Magnolia ISD before coming back home in 2002 to teach at Montgomery Elementary School. She transitioned into the role of Librarian in 2006 , when she opened the Lone Star Elementary School library. In 2009, she was honored to open the Madeley Ranch library, and proud to serve the students in the neighborhood where she grew up. Jennifer adores her Ranch family, and loves to share the magic of reading and love of learning with all of her students. She is excited and honored to have the opportunity to serve her Ranch family in an additional capacity for the remainder of the school year. Jennifer and her husband, Brian, live in Montgomery with their son Cole, who is a freshman at Montgomery High School where he plays soccer.
  • Mrs. Lowe and her family.
Mrs. Lowe has been in education for 16 years; the last 6 years have been in school counseling.  Mrs. Lowe's loves the quote, "When a child is learning how to walk and falls down 50 times, they never think to themselves, "Maybe this isn't for me."  Mrs. Lowe has a passion to help students succeed, and even in their failures, she teaches them to "fail forward".
