Welcome to Mrs. McBride's 1st Grade Class!

About Me:

I am very excited for my second year at Lone Star Elementary! I am so happy to be teaching first grade again! I took "a few" years off to be home with my 3 children. Allie (19), Maggie (18) and Jake (15). However,  I could not stay away from the school setting. I have been very involved in PTO and in the classroom. I was also a Reading Intervention teacher at Montgomery Intermediate. I grew up in Indiana. I graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science degree.  I moved to The Woodlands after college graduation. I taught for 5 years in The Woodlands. Oh, my daughter, Allie, will be a freshman this year at UT!! Hook em Horns!

I have been married for 20 years. My husband, Jamie, and I decided to move to Montgomery when our oldest was in 1st grade. We loved the small town feeling of Montgomery. Amazingly, it still feels like a small town even with all of the growth. We are very happy that we have planted our roots here! I am also very happy that you are a part of the community!

I love spending time with my family and my pets. My favorite place to visit is the beach(30A in Florida). I also enjoy hiking and exploring in nature. It's amazing how relaxing and inspirational nature can be.

My goal is to create a comfortable, safe and loving learning environment for my students to explore and learn. I feel that every child is capable of great things! It is very important that we treat each other with compassion and respect in our classroom. Our classroom will be happy place for your child to grow and learn! Please let me know if your child ever feels otherwise. WE ARE ALL CAPABLE OF GREAT THINGS!
